Thats pretty lame considering the 120 gb seperately comes with one. So in the meantime, would I be able to connect my 20gb hdd to the new elite, and use it, then transfer the data when the cable comes? or will that screw with the licenses for the arcade games and such

As long as you're connected to the internet you shouldn't have any problem with licenses, but there are work-arounds for that if you are having difficulty. Searching the Xbox.com FAQs should provide the steps.

Because Im a dedicated xbox360 customer and knowing MS I wont get the transfer cable in the mail for a month. Yes I know im whining I apologize. And not everyone buying a 120 GB HDD is upgrading either but they package it with those. At least they should sell it in stores for a low price.... I dont even technically need to upgrade, but this 360 is almost 4 years old now, and its doing funky things. Ill be real pissed if it craps the bed the day some of these big games come out.
You MUST call up microsoft to get them now unless you got one out of a 120GB HD. They also now charge $12 for them. I had to buy one for my 60GB HD upgrade.
When I got a refurbished 360 back from Microsoft because my first 360 got RROD, I had to spend an entire evening re-downloading everything from the Marketplace (including about 300 songs for my Rock Band games). Then I had to go online and enter the serial numbers to transfer the ownership rights to be able to play the stuff on the new hard drive.I guess it is a process that needs to be, but it was annoying. I'm not looking forward to doing it again if I have to do that when I buy the Elite.

Hey everyone, sorry if this has been posted before, but I did a check and didn't see anything. Anyways, I was looking at the Xbox mobile site (www.xbox.mobi) from my phone and saw I'm listed as a ''Tier 6'' member. Does anyone know what this means? You can also check the site out from your PC. Click the link, go to ''My Gamer Card'' and put in your gamertag. Just curious if anyone knows what it means. Here's an example of my GT:![]()

People feel the same way about Halo. Different strokes. Personally I like CoD, but I hate dying to 2 stray bullets. Halo is my favorite because even if somebody gets the jump on you, you have a fighting chance. If somebodys behind you in CoD you're dead.

I havent gotten too far into it yet but it's alright. Some times though it got a bit tricky. And the mini training bit in the beginning was hard because trying to run around and go through doors was annoyingly difficult. Also all the people online are actually really good, sorta makes it hard for me to enjoy myself on it when I'm getting killed by snipers within 5 seconds of every spawn. I know I'll get better with practice but that's not the point.It's good but I don't like it as much as everyone else seems to. I prefer a different sort of game.
Call Of Duty 2 won SOTY/GOTY, Call Of Duty 4 won GOTY/Shooter Of The Year...both games are made by the same company, notice the trend ? could it be that maybe Infinity Ward just makes great games ?;)

Cause all the ''HARDCORE FPS gamers'' are the only ''real gamers'', and anything else is for losers.
i like it becuase its a more fast paced online shooters.
I love the game. I think it has got a fantastic single player campaign, and an ever better multiplayer component. The multiplayer is fast paced, which suits me, and it's just a whole lot of fun. It also has significantly less problems than most other online shooters.

OK heres the deal. I played the demo and loved it. but i dont buy games unless they go online and i can keep playing it once the story is over with. Actually put my money to use u kno. With all the other games I usually buy a game used at gamestop and play it for a week (beat it) then return it for pull price. and sometimes get my girl to rent it free from blockbusters with rewards. The game looks so good but not sure if its worth the buy or just play it till i beat it type deal. what do you all think?Is Batman a good buy?

Image quality is wierd,please help!
Well,i just got an xbox360,and i hooked it up to my Samsung SyncMaster 2333HD using the component av cable,and set it to HDTV.I configured the options so the image is in HD(1080p).In-game(and outside),close up,everything looks weird,i can see some pixels,shadows look very blocky,and everything looks unpolished.Batman AA runs great on my pc(demo) and looks great,shadows are very detailed and the textures are razor sharp,on the 360 however it looks unpolished,and weird.I dont know why this is happening,i just want image quality as sharp as the pc.The only cable i can use is component;why???Because of the good people wich sold it too me.I found out it is a 2006 model.....Any suggestions?Thanks for the help and sorry 4 my bad english....

I want to know who else thinks this game is pretty underated ? I put this game in my top 5 right below Bioshock. My friends would always recommend this game to me and I would always put it off, but I finally decided to get it from GameFly last week and it plays like a dream. Definetely, it's one of the best FPS I've ever played, even though I hated how much the game relies on auto-aim.
It is definitely one of the greatest singleplayer experiences this gen. It's great that you finally got to play it, congratulations and welcome to the club of people who have played and truly appreciated a great and underrated game. Just don't expect much from the multiplayer.

If you could aim quickly the Darkness Arm easily got rid of every light you come across.

Question about changing a gamertag...
...my friend wants to change his gamertag because he spelt it wrong. I heard some people in a gta game once saying that if you have a bunch of people file a complaint about your gamertag that they will force you to choose a new one. When did you get your Migration Kit? Was it sometime this year? Reason is, I've read that previous Migration Kits as old as Jun-2008 only works with 20GB transfers to 60GB or 120GB. But if you use that same kit to transfer files from a 60GB to 120GB it won't work coz it will not recognize the 60GB drive (reading it as 20GB instead).
The *NEW* kits don't have that problem though.
I got mine March 2009. Don't know if that's considered *new*.

From my email correspondence w/ Microsoft, they will only *supposedly* send this out to to you for FREE if you own an Elite console since you need to provide it's serial number. Otherwise it's $12.99 -- not sure if that includes shipping.

I was looking to get another Migration Kit since I've read that some kits don't work -- aka don't read 60GB transfers to 120GB (only reads 20GB to 60GB / 120GB). But the original page I saved under my favorites for the FREE kit doesn't exist anymore. So I called MS, and that's the $12.99 story.
Can anyone with a Migration Kit on or before March 2009 confirm their kits still work and is able to read 60GB to 120GB transfers? Thanks!

I thought so too, since I had a migration kit, but wanted to transfer to a 120GB this time. But when I contacted Microsoft, this is what they said:
''Unfortunately, you may not be able to use a transfer cable that is been used. You can obtain a transfer cable by following the steps below:''
They're not offering it free but $12.99 now. I spoke with some rep (likely from India) and said that he ''thinks'' the migration kit should be able to work more than once though.
So either the rep really doesn't know, or Microsoft wants an extra $12.99 from me.

The kit itself can be used pretty much as often as you want.
No, it is not included with new 360 Elites. It is only included with new hard drives you buy separately.

When did you get your Migration Kit? Was it sometime this year? Reason is, I've read that previous Migration Kits as old as Jun-2008 only works with 20GB transfers to 60GB or 120GB. But if you use that same kit to transfer files from a 60GB to 120GB it won't work coz it will not recognize the 60GB drive (reading it as 20GB instead).
The *NEW* kits don't have that problem though.
I got mine March 2009. Don't know if that's considered *new*.

From my email correspondence w/ Microsoft, they will only *supposedly* send this out to to you for FREE if you own an Elite console since you need to provide it's serial number. Otherwise it's $12.99 -- not sure if that includes shipping.

Vision Cam games....can anyone list them ...
I bought the ''Your in the movies' not long ago and have been looking for a decent game to use the cam with....I just purchased rayman raving rabbids but i dont get how to configure the cam since it doesnt seem to be capturing everything...Is it me or does this cam really suck? Even in the Your in the movies game, its hard for it to capture you and have you on there, it gets all fuzzy and choppy...Vision Cam games....can anyone list them ...

I know Burnout Paradise and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 both support it. I think the original Rainbow Six may as well. And theres a free arcade game called Totem ball that supports it too. Those are all I can think of right off the bat.

It's free. So I played it for the achievements. The controls were frustrating though, so after the first achievement I just deleted. But since it's free i can't imagine it'd hurt to give it a shot.

I think it depends in the gamer. If he puts a bunch of videos, his music collection, some BC stuff, XBL games, and HDD installed games it might fill up fast. I've heard of PS3 owners filling up past that. On topic, sounds like a good bundle but they need to put a wifi adapter in there. That would really help sales and it cost them less than $3 I'm guessing.

I doubt this rumor, MS is cutting the Pro out of their line to reduce the number of SKUs on the store shelves, and make it easier for the consumer. Why, just after doing that would they add a 3rd SKU again? Makes no sense on their part.

They cut out the pro so they can do this 250 gb Xbox 360 and have more profit , if they cutted out the arcade it woul'd been better.
I think the reason they are doing this is so people can fit more ''games on demand'' games on their HDD. From reading the forums, a lot of people won't buy them because they can't fit very many on their HDD.

Bioshock or Half-Life 2?

Man that is a hard decision both games rock. Bioshock is a great game espcially played with surround sound in a dark room. Half-Life is a great game in it's own right, but the Orange Box version is probably the best gaming value for the 360 and PC ever made. 5 Games in one package, all of them stellar, not to mention one of them is Portal which is a dramatcially underated game. Get them both, they both are replayable over and over.
Half Life 2 all the way in every way possible. the only thing Bioshock has over it would be the graphics, but otherwise Half Life 2 takes the cake

hello guys, first Xbox360 forum post,did MS do anything to increase Xbox's reliability? in other words, are machines built in lets say January 2008 more reliable that ones made in Jan 2007?Xbox is starting to get games that interest me, but RROD problem is big deal to me, since i don't know how good Microsoft service is here (UAE) also, how can i know when a machine is made, is there a way by looking at the serial number on the box? But I'll just give some info so you could be one of us soon.My Xbox 360 is 4 months old, i play 3 hours a day.It never got any problems.The controller is VERY DURABLE. ive only had mine since christmas (got the pro system) but still ive had no problems.
I believe the newer machines are more reliable. I have had mine since launch and I have to return it (RROD) a couple of times. Just make sure if you have the option to get an extended warranty.

I guess I cant complain because I spent enough time on it to get 100,000 worth of gamerscore. I figured out once that I got about 8 cents an hour of use from my launch 360. There were times I would leave it on for over 30 hours at a time. I would leave it on pause also for hours at a time. I have a second 360 I got about 18 months ago. So far that one has been working fine.I do need a new wirless controller and I want a 360 with a HDMI port on it so I am thinking of also buying a new 360 but want to make sure more of the bugs are worked out. My xbox has got the RRoD 3 times in the last 4 months, overall ive owned it for 18 months now. Yesterday my console came back- same serial code- but this time its way way quieter and runs much better in my opinion. Theyve definatly put something different inside it since i was used to it sounding like a jet engine, now its quieter than my pc. So it could have the falcon chip, the main thing is it works and is quiet!

[/QUOTE]Yea, they've improved the new ones by using a smaller .65nm cpu... they're starting to implement a .65nm gpu as well.... but if u want to be on the safe side, get the elite... it's already made with better parts and rearranged heatsink.. i've had mine for like 6 or so months with no probs at all... i went thru 3 pros before that. love the system tho

If you buy an Elite system then I think for sure it's got the new 65nm chip that is less likely to RRoD. The lesser 360 packages are more l;ikely to have the old 90nm. I'm not sure though. Look up the 360 Falcon chip I think.
Checking the sticker and seeing it with a 175w power supply always guarantee you a falcon. The other thing you have to worry about is the dvd drive. Getting a BenQ (No holes, straight U cut in the center) drive is a great thing, getting the Hitachi (two cutouts on the lower part) will make your life and your ears miserable. I recently bought an Elite and thank God it was a BenQ drive. I used it for 3 hours straight with no problems but I haven't tested it that much yet especialy on RROD-inducing games. Have a look around your local electronics store and obtain the info from the sticker and input it on the filter bars on 360drives.com That way you can gauge the chances of getting a BenQ drive and gambling on a particular box on the retail store.Another tip: If you don't mind the lack of hard drive, go for the Xbox 360 Arcade. It was just released in the UAE last January 10 and your chances of getting a BenQ drive there is a whole lot bigger.

I hope you got a good 360, I had to fix my ring of death myself. So far so good, but it was a pain to fix. I just hope my DVD drive keeps working now. I also modded it a bit to add more cooling. Its a nice system just poorly designed in some respects. If it breaks I will be getting a PS3, mainly for the Blu-Ray.
hey khalid! how r u? listen im n UAE too :D. look u can go to carrefour in any branch in abu dhabi or dubai, and get the arcade model for 850 dhs! and btw the new 360 is more realiable due to the falcon chipset. the ps3 is very expensive due to unwanted features such as wifi and blu ray. and in addition, the 360 offers more btr games as well. beleive me man, the new 360 model fail rate is 0.1%, and that is very good, unlike the old ones. if u wanted to make sure ur 360 is new, on the box of the 360 u will see a stamp, make sure it says 175w and not 203w. ive went to many places here in the uae and saw that all arcade models are falcon motherboards, so no worries but be sure to check. and also make sure u buy it for 850dhs. i hope i was helpful man, if u needed anything just ask salam ya boye!!!!

windows media center help / what do you ...
So i was able to get it setup, but once I get into the window media center on the 360, everything is super slow and it seems more complicated than it needs to be. I already can listen to music from specific folder and watch some videos with out the media center, but some video couldnt be read by the 360 so I thought I might be able to play them if I set up the media center...does anyone know if this is true?or really if anyone has experience with the media center and could tell me what it is best for that would be great. Horizontal lines going across television ...
Well, have you ever seen any of those videos on youtube and their tv's have these horizontal lines going across it? That's my case.I don't know what happened, my X-box has been having issues lately, like overheating in aired out spaces so I had to put a fan to the side of it. I'm pretty sure it's not my Television because it has no effect on my provider (Dish). It was working yesterday, then last night it started occuring. It happens at the dashboard, it happens in-game, hell, it evens starts at the X-Box Intro, when you turn it on. Anyone know whats wrong?More info: If I let it rest, it works for about an hour when I turn it on, then the lines start going throught it. Despite me really likeing these games, the gameplay itself is kind of unrealistic. From what I hear, this game will make you rely on medkits to keep you alive, so it sounds like you have to be even more cautious and strategic this time. :)

They're video games. They're all unrealistic in their own ways.

Well not all FPS are run and gun but yes most of them are. And like DJ said all games are unrealistic to some degree because they're games. BTW it's kinda funny you're complaining about a sci-fi game being unrealistic ^_^

Well, ODST will sort of have recharging health. It's called stamina here, theres a certain amount of fire you can take until the hud starts turning red and then shots will start eating away at your health. Hiding in cover will recover stamina and health packs will recover your health. So it's essentially the same health system as Halo: Combat Evolved's although ODST's stamina wont be as powerful as the other Halo games' shields systems. You wont be able to take as much fire until it start eating away at your health.

Well not all FPS are run and gun but yes most of them are. And like DJ said all games are unrealistic to some degree because they're games. BTW it's kinda funny you're complaining about a sci-fi game being unrealistic ^_^

you need to do more of the main quest. while doing the main quest it will lead you to inside the citadel anyways.
Talk to the intercom during that one main quest storyline?
SPOILER.. after the purifer gets attacked and you lead your group out youll head to the brotherhoods base and the door will open then, once you get inside youll meet elder lyons, hes the old guy in blue, and you can ask him right there for premission, then the guy that trains you walks around the main court yard without a helmet

DLC Problem/Transfer
I used to have a account called ryan040404040, was my main xbox live account and had all my dlc, saves and achievements. Sometime last year, someone hacked into my profile. I contacted M$ and they they told me all this bs and then they gave me a code for 6 months of live or something and told me to make a new account. I had to start allover and I couldn't load my saves from that profile or use that dlc. It's been about a year later and for some reason with this new update that came out, I was wondering if I could transfer all the dlc and stuff from my old account to my main account. I can't go on my new account and redownload it because itslinked to the ryan account, I can't sign into live with my old ryan account either and I was wondering if there was any possible way to transfer dlc or saves.DLC Problem/Transfer

So basically me and my friends (7 ppl including myself) all purchased xbox's a while ago when halo 3 was first released.Me and another friend heard about rrod and decided to be cautious so every time one of us is done playing we unplug our 360 from the wall. A year and a half later both of our boxes still work fine while each one of our friends that did not unplug theirs have had their xbox break, three of those were sent to ms for repairs (costing 100 dollars and a few months of missed gameplay) one was sold to gamestop for 50 bucks and the final one had to have the face plate removed and some other parts to keep it from over heating - a real hastle when you are trying to sync a controller because you cant press the button.So it's just a theory but think about it, things break when they are left plugged in (cell phones, ipods, rechargeable batteries etc.) and your carbon foorprint increases when things are left plugged in also because electricity is still flowing through them (=bad for enviroment) and it really is not a hastle to get up and unplug the 360 but it really is a hastle to send it into ms for repairs. I leant my one 360 controller to a female friend of mine and her thumbnail accidentally damaged the left stick.It's wireless and was kept in nice condition until that day. Her nail kind of dug into the face of the stick and somehow scraped out some of the rubber. It's not terrible but it's noticeable when I use it.I was just wondering if there was anything I could do to fix or replace it without buying another one.Controller damaged. Advice?

I am having a bit of trouble completing the Black Gate level with Aragon. It seems the last few tries I was 98% close to completing and becoming victorious. The only thing stopping me was after several tries - I always end up with 10 seconds remaining on the clock, and the Orcs overrun me and defeat. Could someone give me some tips?-Is there a certain character I should be playing as?-Is there a certain skill I should be using to push back the Orc Waves?-Are Trolls the main reason for causing the area to be overrun so quickly?And any other facts and tips would be appreciated. It's not only the achievement I play for. I really love Gears 2's Campaign and I have completed it 4 times now (2 times casual 1 time normal 1 time hardcore) and now I want to complete it on the hardest difficulty :). And it's more fun when you're playing with someone else.

It's the developers who put this into their game and update it. So unless MS was making all those games, don't be bashing MS without reason. For example, I was just playing BF:BC and I saw the Gamer billboards and I know EA and DICE put them up because they make the game and MS has not control over this.

Honestly, I thought it was a clever way to introduce marketing to games in a subtle way. Does anyone remember the first Hulk game on the XBOX? Where the only soda machine in the entire city seemed to be Mountain Dew? And he always seemed to throw them so they would fly in your vision on the screen? Not to mention EVERY billboard in that game had the Dew on it. So in my opinion, yay for subtlety, great way to make money without making the game look silly.
What everbody else said another game that has it is UFC 09 there live ads in the ring. Ads like that are cool though the arent intrusive and they stay up to date with the lastest movies and stuff i mean if your gonna have a billboard there why not one will real ads theres nothing wrong that.

Why did you bump this 2 year old thread? Anyways, COD WaW got old fast, real fast. Its still a great game, but COD 4 was better IMO.
well, the 360 isn't that old, and to think there are 3 call of duty games already, I don't think you modern warfare lovers need to wait long for the next chapter after the 5ths releasecall of duty 5

Wow if is made by Treyarch, you going to see all people with Call of Duty 4.
there will be a new Call of Duty every November. It has 2 developers so each developer has a 2-3 year cycle (some development starts half-way through the completetion of it's ''previous'' installment). I can guarantee you they are already building assets and technology for Call of Duty 6.
