Remove avatar?

The new little animated avatars everyone gets just aren't working for me. Is there a way to not have one? Sometimes I see just a black silhouette how do they do that?Tys for any info.Remove avatar?
The black silhouette is just for people that haven't yet created an avatar. Once you've made one I don't think there is any way to remove it and go back to the black silhouette.



you can go into the editor and delete your current avatar, but if you quit without making a new one, it just keeps your old one.Remove avatar?
How the heck did they not make one? Right after I got the update it forced me to make one first thing after it loaded up.
i don't like them too or the nxe.

No, there was a way to back out of it and return to it later. You might be able to delete your Avatar by choosing the start over option, then save and back out to do later. If you're able to do that, you can erase it and never go back to create another one. I don't see what the big deal is though, it's basically a gamer pic....
Its not basically anything, avatar and nxe were such a BAD idea, trying to give us our moneys worth? HA, we pay monthly I expect more than a lame little moving pic, this aint the sims
I don't understand what everyone hates about them... Just ignore them its not a big deal.. it doesn't affect your gaming and you can still use old gamer pics.
I don't really care for them myself, but I have friends that do. I did make one, and am somewhat happy with it. I don't however look at it much, and don't spend much time dressing it up/changing it. It really isn't something that is in your face if you choose not to use it. If you don't like them, just ignore them.



Personally, I now access almost everything on my dashboard through the pop up window from pressing the middle button. In my opinion the main friends list on the dash is useless for anything other than looking at friends avatars, but that doesn't mean I think it has no value. It just has no value to me.



I do like many of the new features on NXE, and am glad it is around.
Wow its kinda of funny, of all the things that the 360 does your stuck on the avatar. i myself dont really like them so i dont look at them its not that big a deal. If its that bad and you just can't take it anymore then give me your x box that way you'll never have to look at the bad lil man ever again :)

I really can't believe people get this worked up over an avatar:|.
Who the hell cares if you have an avatar? They are only visible from the dashboard friends list unless you made it your gamer pic and any other time people are just going to see your regular gamer pic if you kept it.

When i started NXE for the first time, i used the Xbox Guide + Y to quit the Avatar creator, and has never been bothered by it since.

I am not sure if you can erase your avatar, suppose you could always get a new gamertag...

I never thought about doing that, but in most cases where someone just has the silhouette it just means they haven't been online since Nov 19th when NXE launched. I have a second gamertag that I've not logged into and that appears as a silhouette when viewing my friends list on my main gamertag
I have tried deleting it off the HDD and i've tried the start over option and then jumping out to the menus and nothing works. It always comes back. I don't think I made a big deal out of it I just said they aren't to my liking. I think they look like something they'de put on a system made for children under the age of maybe 7. But thats me.

i liked the screensaver before the damn up load it was way cooler and better i want to go back to the first one u get
You know I'm really hoping that there is someone at microsoft at least trying to find a way to remove NXE from the system while still keeping all the new features. It has to be one of the most messed up things of 2009 in the gaming world.
