okay so i have 2 xbox 360's. a launch console and a falcon elite console mfr- feb 2008 . for some reason my new elite falcon model that i just got gets hot on the bottom horizontal even on veritcal its still hot,not warm. and my old launch cosole stays cool. why is that? i thought that the falcons were suppose to run cooler.they are both in good ventilation area i have like 2 feet around it. Because it's running? In all seriousness though any console will naturally get hot while running. Unless you were to leave it for days at a time you shouldn't have any issues.
welcome to having technology. if your really concerned, open it up, void the warranty and do a sweet custom water cooled rig job on it. People will think your awesome and you will have a ~30C 360. BTW running hot can mean two things. What it sounds like is the new 360 is actually DOING its job of cooling the parts as the heat is dispersed to the outsides of the console. The old ones didnt cool well and thus the heat was trapped on the components itself, thus leading to them overheating.
It could be alot hotter without the fans.
oh okay . thanks i was getting really worried. but im still wondering why my launch runs cooler than my falcon.how long have you had yours ?
