Opinions of dropping Pro model in UK

As of today, Microsoft will stop selling the Pro Console in the UK, leaving the Arcade and the Elite as the only choice of models available.Personally I think it's a bummer for those looking to buy a 360 as people will now have to pay ?00 for the best Xbox bundle and if they can't afford that they have to go for the very basic bundle and build from scratch.However, if it means improving the sales, then I can't argue.I already own an Elite so am not all that bothered.Opinions of dropping Pro model in UK

in usa the price difference between pro and elite is $50 so why would u not buy the elite with its bigger hard drive
I think it's unfortunate for those wanting to get their first 360, as the Arcade is still a fairly useless model - you simply NEED to have a harddrive to get the most out of gaming on a 360. Yes I know you can play games without it, and get on Live, but now so many things need the storage space of a harddrive.



As a 20GB owner I just wish they would drop the price of harddrives to a sensible level. I would like to get a 60 or 120GB HDD, but resent the prices they try and charge for them. A 320GB laptop harddrive is now under 45 quid, so why should a 120GB cost close to 90?



But on the plus side - people that were going to spend 200 on a 60GB Pro, now get 120GB Elite for the same money. It's not so much a price cut, as a replacement model for the Pro.
That's a good point. But as mentioned, the Arcade Model is pretty useless as there is no hard-drive and the hard-drives are expensive. I suppose only time will tell if this was a smart move by Microsoft.Another thought is I wonder if it will mean more black peripherals, seeing as more people will own Elites now.
I don't care because I have an Elite :) who would want an ugly white box under a HDTV? Hence my extra discust of the Wii as well :lol:

That is true. The Elite looks a lot better and should have been black to start off with as it matches most TV's ;) Let's see if more black accessories are released to compliment it.
