1080p Question

I upgraded to an Elite today and went from a 360 with a 20GB HD and no HDMI input to one that has both. When I was using component cables with the old 360 I was able to set the display to 1080p, but with the Elite and the HDMI used for the display, that option isnt available in the menu. I know true 1080p cant be gotten from a component cable, but I was able to get it with component cables. Why would this be? And didnt the last update have something integrated into it where you could override the display options or something? I read that somewhere on Major Nelsons blog a while back. Thanks for the help. :)1080p Question

From memory (I haven't played with the system settings in a while), I've been using 1080p through component cables as well.
u can get 1080p through component only if your TV accepts it, most TVs get 1080p through HDMI and VGA

Exactly, you can get 1080p using component cables...TC---you should do some researching
1080p is only capable through component if it's connected to a HDTV that accepts analog 1080p. These TVs are generally

older. Link your TV/HDMI version.

Whats the difference between analog 1080p and true?
isn't it analog and digital?i have a 42'' hdtv that i did both hookups with and the hdmi comes in a little cleaner and crisper.the best example i noticed is when the little popup indicator comes up saying a friend is online, the letters of the words looked more pixelated with components.hdmi>vga>component
