ODST or Modern Warfare 2

Well, I really don't know what to buy right now. I'm a fan of both series, but I don't plan on spending too much this holiday season. The main reason for me getting ODST is that my Halo 3 disc is pretty scratched up, and yesterday I noticed a crack in the near center of my disc. I fear that it may get bigger and to the point that it becomes unplayable. Also, the firefight mode and the free maps interest me. (Especially since I don't plan on buying anymore Microsoft Points this time of year because I've already bought like 3.) Not to mention that most of my friends are playing it.

Now, for Modern Warfare 2. I'm a fan of Call of Duty, and I definitely am hyped for the sequel. I also don't see if ODST will be worth the $60 price tag considering the only new things in it is the campaign (5 hours long I think) and firefight mode. Although, from the E3 demo it looks pretty cool (except the respawning enemies).

Anyways, please give me your opinion on these games, and tell me what to buy.

Sidenote: My friend has a copy of Halo 3, but he doesn't play it at all. I'll see if I can convince him to give me his copy.ODST or Modern Warfare 2
Is this a joke?Your comparing an expansion to a year and a half year old game to a brand new game. Mw2 for sure (even tho i like halo 3 more than cod4.)The real question should be halo reach or mw2.ODST or Modern Warfare 2
ODST does not have a 5 hour campaign, Bungie has already talked about that. So you basically get a full campaign+firefight+halo3 mp+all maps including 3 new ones. Im a big fan of Halo, the cod series are good but for me are nowhere near Halo. This is all based on MY opinion ofc, and since you asked for advice i say ODST easily though mw2 will only come 2 months later..so..you could also get it..idk its up to you

MW2!!! although I do have both pre-ordered, I'm looking forward to MW2 most.
I'm more excited for ODSt but I'll be getting both for sure.

To be honest. MW2 looks like a expansion as well, I'll get both though, both are my faves.
For me MW2 i luv COD, story mode not brill, but MP is awesome. As for Halo I dont like it at all I just dont. soorry halo fans
ODST, the campaign looks different from the other Halo games and has Firefight, which looks addictive.Modern Warfare 2 looks like a rehash of Modern Warfare 1, with better graphics and dual wielding, hopefully they fix the multiplayer since Modern Warfare 1 has overrated multiplayer. It's unbalanced, some maps aren't that great and it takes the least amount of skill in shooters I've played.
MW2.
mw2
If they Bungie lives up to their promise of making ODST more Like Halo 1 then I'm interested otherwise I'd go for MW2
Modern warfare 2. Easy choice.

How exactly is the multiplayer in Modern warfare unbalanced?.

The M16 is over powered a bit, but it doesn't make the game unbalanced. If it was unbalanced no one would be playing it.

And Halo 3 has its fair share of bad maps too. Just sayin.

Both seem like expansions, and I'm tired of sequels. I want something new so I'll get Borderlands before I get either of them. I don't want to reward companies for just reproducing reworked games over and over agian. I'll still end up getting both, but I'll get them used.
Both Look awesome

i think id go for ODST though...
