RaNT!

So you just got Batman AA. Your having a blast, so happy in you purchase. Just one problem, you bought it used. Now why is that a problem? It's the same exact game and you got 5 bucks off of it. Here's the deal and you all know it. Used games don't help the developers out what so ever. They spent all that time and effort to make a game and then you go around and take the cheap way, ultimately cheating the devs. If you want to see more quality games, buy new copies of that game. Don't whine and complain when a developer has to make staff cuts or goes under all together because they didn't meet the x amount of revenue.Oh and renting doesn't help either. I don't need to test out a game anymore thanks to sites like gamespot where I can just track the game, view videos of it, read reviews and hear opinions. There's a thin line between ''wanting to be smart with my money'' and just being a cheap skate. If you want EA Tiburon to stop being so lazy and really make some changes to Madden, then maybe buying used will help them get into gear. So stop undercuting developers and speak with you dollar. If you really want to support Eidos and hope they make another Batman game, just buy the game new. (Batman AA and Eidos are just examples.)Alright I'm done with my rant, thanks for reading.RaNT!
actually used games on recently released games at Gamecrazy are usually $45-$50, and another $10 - $15 in my pocket. Sure i get ur reasoning, but i dont think it makes as much as an impact as u say it doesRaNT!
I have to ask you one thing... Why so serious?:P
there's used copies out for this game already? damn...as for renting....umm i htink blockbuster does game devs a huge favour....what other store has 30 copies of mario galaxy?
wow i buy used games all the time you dont have to buy new if you dont want to you should only worry about your money.

Lol
Here we going again about this buy new not used. There has been topics like this before. Honestly if i want to buy a used game i will and when i fill like buying new i will do that also. U can rant all u want to but honestly it's up to the person making the purchase if he wants to buy new or used. I respect your opinion and its your choice and are choice.
I agree with supporting the devs but I feel like if they drop the standard price from $60 then more poeple will buy new. I wouldn't spend $60 for just a 6 hour single player campaign. If games were priced $20 or $30... more people would be willing to take a chance on a game that has potential to be mediocre. reviews nowadays factor in the length/replayability of the game with the cost.
Ok this ''rant'' is pointless. You are trying to argue that devs need every penny from every gamer. And I know, every penny helps. But know this...the CEO's of the companies that develop these games are RICH! They have pleanty of money. And if their company is undergoing finance issues, the CEO can pay for the problems for all I care. What you are saying is that the average joe should pay more money for a game so a HUGE company can bank a few extra cents? I have friends who are in low income families, should I tell them not to get a game used so that the developer won't suffer???That's why I download music, cause guess what...the people that make the music, don't NEED my money. Its the same with games. I play games for my personal enjoyment, and if a developer goes bankrupt, OH NO!!! There is more than one gaming developer out there, and best of all, the developers with the best games, are also the most finincially stable, so they really don't need the money.Counter rant over...
Ya know Gamespot allows each user to have their own personal blog to post things like this in so people don't waste time reading uneducated rants in the forums.
I already bought it new don't rant at me :P
I only buy new games. Lucky devs.

umm, okay. I'm getting it for Christmas though. I'm gonna get my mom to get me a new copy of the game.
Sorry dude, but I'm not feeling you on this one....I got bills to pay just like the devs. So if I can save money buying a game(or anything else)at a reduced price,I'm buying it.

I buy second games fairly often ,,, sorry kid but I' assuming you either dont work or you arent on low income. If you did you'd appreciate that yes theres only ? difference between new and used a lot of the time but thats ? I still have in my pocket for the more importatnt things in life that I would be short of otherwise :). Sorry its a game why spend more on it then you have to? (without stealing/downloading).Anyway a lot of people buy DLC these days so chances are we second hand gamers are still contributing in some small way, specially when you consider how much they charge for it!
I'll buy the game from where ever it's cheapest, thank you very much. Plus as a single player only game, Batman will be the new Bioshock in that game shops will be flooded with second hand copies soon enough.
I don't think that recently used games would have that big of an impact...but then again you could be onto something. If people kept buying and selling this same used game a couple times within a month, and this happened to all the copies of that game, and they passed up the new copybecause of it's price,it could potentially create an impact on sales of the new copies. I don't think anything quite like that has ever happened, at least not to any big games, but if it did I think we would hear about it.
I never buy used games.. the price difference is never very big (I don't care about 5$) and no money goes to the dev.
